This is an opportunity for the Level One (Adoption or Knowledge) person who wants to use the Internet for research to find information for personal and professional use. The Internet has so much information, it can be overwhelming. It is important to learn good searching strategies and some tips to make your online adventure a safe and successful journey.

Purpose
to be able to navigate, find, and use information on the Internet
Objectives
  1. use good searching strategies with a variety of search engines
  2. evaluate sites for validity and relevancy
  3. bookmark sites and organize them into folders
  4. find directions, a favorite restaurant, or shopping site, and then share it with others
NCATE Standards:
1.2.3, 2.3.2, 2.3.3

ISTE Standards and Performance Indicators:
I.A, II.C , V.C

Types of Opportunities:
  • three hour hands-on small group workshop with others at the same level or
  • one hour one-on-one coaching session
Prerequisite 
Basic Computer Skills or its equivalent

This eCoach opportunity can be bundled with other opportunities in an institute with a focus on a particular curriculum area, grade level, or project. Our coaches can prepare your coaches so they can offer this opportunity onsite for a separate fee. We will include relevant eCoach guides as part of any opportunity or purchase any guide separately.
