What are different ways numbers can be represented?

Hello Super Second Graders!  Are you ready to use your superhero math powers to solve some place value problems?  In these activities, you will:

  • Read and write numbers in standard form.
    • 356
  • Read and write numbers in word form.
    • Three hundred fifty-six is the word form for the number 356.
  • Read and write numbers in expanded form.
    • 300 + 50 + 6 is the expanded form for the number 356.

 

Don’t forget, you can use base-10 blocks, place value mats, or any other superhero math tools to help you solve the problems!  Remember to look for patterns, too!
