Student Multimedia Projects

   This is an opportunity for the Level Two (Instructional) or Level Three (Mentor) person who wants to teach multimedia skills to students. Use sound instructional design techniques as you design a curriculum project that lends itself to students working in collaborative teams to create their own multimedia project. Review your curriculum and content standards to identify an area to focus on. Develop a plan that scaffolds skills and encourages cooperative work. Share and reflect on the process with others in an online discussion forum.
 
Purpose
to be able to create a curriculum unit that includes multimedia
Objectives
  1. design methods for teaching basic multimedia skills
  2. describe planning and storyboarding strategies students will use
  3. review curriculum areas and form a team to develop student project aligned to content standards
  4. create lesson plan for project with classroom management and assessment strategies appropriate for grade level
  5. implement project and share online how effective projects were with students

1.3.3, 3.1.1, 3.1.6, 3.1.8, 3.1.13

ISTE Standards and Performance Indicators:
 II.B, D and E, III. A , C and D, IV.C, V.B and DVI.E

Length and Types
  • six or more hours hands-on workshop in a small group with others at the same level with one or more hours follow-up discussion online or
  • three to four hours coaching session with team of two or three plus online discussion
Prerequisite
Create a Curriculum Multimedia Unit, Information Literacy Skills and Classroom Management Strategies or equivalent 

This eCoach opportunity can be bundled with other opportunities in an institute or staff development program with a focus on a particular curriculum area, grade-level, or project.  Our coaches can prepare your coaches to provide this service onsite for a separate fee. Our coaches will include relevant eCoach guides as part of any opportunity or purchase guides separately.
