Create a Curriculum Multimedia Unit

  This is an opportunity for the Level Two (Instructional) person who wants to use multimedia as part of the curriculum. Work together with others and identify a curriculum area that can be enhanced with multimedia. Collaborate as you find a topic and questions that will engage students. Develop the unit so students can scaffold skills and learn from each other. Use the online discussion board to share ideas and reflect on process.
 
Purpose
to be able to create a curriculum unit that includes multimedia
Objectives
  1. identify and use basic principles of instructional design
  2. review curriculum and identify areas where unit could support it
  3. align content standards to unit
  4. use information literacy skills to research, find, and evaluate information to support project
  5. work as a team to design and practice methods for delivering a curriculum project
  6. develop a rubric and assess each other’s projects
  7. collaborate online to reflect on effectiveness of unit
 NCATE Standards 
2.4.1, 2.4.2,  2.4.5, 3.1.4

ISTE Standards and Performance Indicators:
 II.B, D and E, III. A , C and D, IV.C, V.B

Length and Types
  • six to twelve hours hands-on workshop in a small group with others at the same level with one hour follow-up discussion online or
  • three to four hours coaching session with team of two or three plus online discussion
 Prerequisite
Hyperstudio Nuts and Bolts, Information Literacy Skills and Classroom Management Strategies or equivalent 

This eCoach opportunity can be bundled with other opportunities in an institute or staff development program with a focus on a particular curriculum area, grade-level, or project.  Our coaches can prepare your coaches to provide this service onsite for a separate fee. Our coaches will include relevant eCoach guides as part of any opportunity or purchase any guide separately.
