Develop a Student Resource Site

This is an opportunity for the Level Two (Instructional) or Level Three (Mentor) person who wants their students to create an Internet resource site that other students can use. Become more of a facilitator as you guide your students to become experts of their curriculum area. Create an environment where students produce new ways of reaching the curriculum and meeting the content standards. Encourage students to use online resources for communication and collaboration.

Purpose
to be able to develop strategies for students to manage and organize a curriculum resource site
Objectives
  1. develop teams of students responsible for different areas of the curriculum and areas of interest
  2. have students use information literacy strategies to find, post, and properly cite appropriate sources
  3. develop areas of expertise with student mentors
  4. develop an organized project that students can manage and organize themselves
  5. create an assessment strategy
  6. share results with others in the workshop
  7. create an area to reflect on process

Types of Opportunities:
  • six to twelve hour or more hands-on small group workshop with others at the same level plus two hour online discussion or
  • three hour minimum one-on-one coaching session plus follow-up online support
Prerequisite 
Internet Workshops, Internet Research Projects Information Literacy or its equivalent

This eCoach opportunity can be bundled with other opportunities in an institute with a focus on a particular curriculum area, grade level, or project or as coaching as part of the staff development program. Our coaches can prepare your coaches so they can offer this opportunity onsite for a separate fee. We will include relevant eCoach guides as part of any opportunity or purchase any guide separately.
