This is an opportunity for the Level Two (Instructional Level) person who wants to create a student newsletter as part of the curriculum. Work with others at the same level to design articles and edit each other's work. Use this model to develop a project around a curriculum area that you can use with your students. Use email and discussion boards to collaborate and share files. Align unit with content standards.

Purpose
to be able to use a word processor to create a student newsletter as a project-based learning activity
Objectives
  1. develop a curriculum unit where teams of students create a newsletter
  2. use the advanced editing features
  3. transfer and merge files between programs and save in different formats
  4. collaborate online
  5. save newsletter as web page
  6. design a set of evaluation strategies
  7. have students create rubrics to assess work

Suggested Length and Types
  1. six to twelve hour hands-on workshop in a small group with others at the same level and
  2. two to four hour coaching sessions with online follow-up in discussion area and email

This eCoach opportunitycan be bundled with other opportunities in an institute with a focus on a specific curriculum area, grade-level, or project or include this opportunity as coaching in the staff development program.
