eCoach Opportunity:
Tech Leaders Workshop

This is an opportunity for the Level Three (Mentor Level) person who will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for hardware and software, manage a technology team, create collaborative teams of students and teachers, and be a liaison to the community and school board on technology issues. This opportunity will be ongoing with other tech leaders in face-to-face meetings onsite and through an online discussion board. There will be activities that involve reporting on research and participation in site visits and conferences.

Purpose to develop skills and expertise to become a technology leader
Objectives be able to optimize, configure, and manage computer systems troubleshoot software, hardware, and network problems or delegate tasks appropriately research and evaluate appropriate technology for purchase be part of a team to maintain technology train students and teachers to be mentors provide or manage onsite and online coaching plan and manage staff development program develop program for teachers and students to collaborate online facilitate technology meetings and present issues at school site, district, board, and community meetings present ethical and legal uses of technology to staff and community discuss professional organizations/issues	NCATE Standards: 1.2.6, 2.4.7, 3.1.12, 3.2.2, 3.2.3, 3.2.4, 3.2.5, 3.2.6, 3.2.7 ISTE Standards and Performance Indicators: I. B, II. B , III. C, III. D, IV. B, IV. C, V.and VI.
Types of Opportunities 24-48 hour workshop in small group limited to 8 with those at same level plus 20 hours as part of team first 2 days are face-to-face, assigned reading and posting to discussion board, follow-up face-to-face 2 more days with team monthly meetings (without coach)	Prerequisites Technology, Management, and Collaboration or its equivalent

This opportunity can prepare your mentors to become onsite coaches or provide technology coordinators the skills and background they need to do their job. Specific eCoach opportunities at this level can be grouped together in a customized institute. This opportunity can be divided into two sessions: one for the technical issues and the other for the mentor. Specific eCoach Guides can be included with duplication rights for your mentors and include your logo and name or any guides or resources can be purchased separately.
