Activity 1: Introducing Project

Activity 2: Creating Subsidiary Questions
Students will work in groups and then with the class to create focused questions that will guide students through the project.

Groups of 4 will create 3 questions that reflect what they want to know.

Students sign AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) forms and review district rules on Internet use.

Each group will join one other and compare maps and discuss features. Based on input, groups will edit their work.

Using subsidiary questions and rubric 1, students make decisions about the identified features and the accuracy of their placement on the map....

After groups edit their maps, students will use their information to complete the answers to their subsidiary questions.

Students will complete their Outline Map based on their findings.

Using the Scoring Presentation of Settlement Site rubric, the teacher will:
