Time for KidPix!

Instructional Time: 45 minutes a day for 3 days

Process:
Introduce KidPix to students.
Show the students how to type words using the stamping tool and the keyboard.
Remind students that a capital letter starts a sentence and the proper punctuation mark that will end their sentences.
Show students how to make capital letters and punctuation marks.
Show students the different tools that are available to them to illustrate their picture using KidPix. Limit students' access to certain tools, if necessary.
WARNING: Kids find EVERYTHING. If they discover multiple tools they like, they may use all of the tools all at once. BE CAREFUL!!!
With guidance, show students how to save their work on the computer. It is important to remember that these students are still developing skills to perform these tasks.
Have students publish their work using KidPix. It would be a good idea to show students examples of the project so they now what it is you expect from them. As students publish their work, circulate to see that the students are "on track".
Remind students to save their work regularly.
Please Note: To enhance student work, teacher may record the students' voices reading what they wrote on each page. By doing this, the slide show will have audio of the students reading the content of what each slide has. Digital images may also enhance students' finished project.
Once students have all of their slides complete, it is at the discretion of the teacher to put the students' slides together or teach the students how to build their own slide show.
