Barbara Bray

Barbara founded Computer Strategies in 1991 to bring
relevant and focused professional development to teachers.
As a computer and G.A.T.E. teacher, she co-developed engaging
projects with teachers and saw this as the type of professional
development teachers really wanted. Barbara has been an active
member of CUE since the late
1980's and was awarded the Gold Disk in 1998 for her many
contributions to the advancement of technology and education.
Barbara's presentations at local, national and international
conferences have been popular and sprinkled with humor and
loads of tips. She has taught at St. Mary's College, Cal State
Hayward and been guest speaker at UC Berkeley and other Universities.
Barbara has written many articles on professional development
and writes a regular column for the OnCUE Journal. She also
moderates an active listserv for professional developers (techstaffdevelop)
and coordinates PDQs
(Professional Development Quick Tips) for Techlearning.com.
Barbara coordinates a team of eCoaches for workshops and institutes
for schools and districts around the country.
Barbara started the new division My eCoach in 2000
to:
- move the focus to coaching more than training
- emphasize the importance of planning
- form a team of eCoaches
- help schools build capacity with their own eCoaches
- create an online project building tool to support coaching
- develop resources for teachers and students
