Spotlights to Check Out
By Barbara Bray    December 22, 2012 -- 12:41 PM

Here are a few of the websites and resources that we spotlighted this year. We also added vocabulary, questions, and extension activities for you:

  • Teaching from Space offers experiences and resources not found anywhere else. You can get involved in real NASA missions and research, gain access to NASA experts, and use NASA equipment to take learning to a new level.
  • FBI Online Surfing (SOS) promotes cyber citizenship and help students learn about online safety while engaging in fun, interactive games. The program was designed to address current Internet safety threats while keeping each grade level’s Internet usage and knowledge in mind.
  • Hear Me is a conduit for kids voices that promotes the purposeful and responsible use of media by and for kids that can stimulate change in their lives, their communities, and the world.
  • Edheads is an online educational resource that provides free science and math games and activities that promote critical thinking. Choose from Simple Machines, Virtual Knee Surgery or Stem Cell Heart Repair, among others.
  • Chemicool helps out anyone involved in chemistry with images, YouTube chemistry clips and new information about chemistry and the periodic table.
