SOS - Safe Online Surving

As part of its longstanding crime prevention and public outreach efforts, the FBI has a free web-based initiative designed to help teachers educate learners about cyber safety.

 

It is called the FBI SOS (Safe Online Surfing) Internet Challenge—and it was developed with the assistance of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and with the input of teachers and schools.

When the school moves to computers for each teacher and student, the learning environment not only changes, teaching practice changes. We ask a lot of our teachers: To not only teach the concepts, assess understanding, manage the classroom, differentiate instruction, but they also have to learn technology while they use and infuse it in their daily activities.
